The news came at the end of Tuesday’s Nintendo Direct presentation, which was packed with news including more Nintendo 64 releases for the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack that includes the iconic GoldenEye 007 with online play. The camera can be changed on the fly by pressing the A button, but IGN said that the controls do not alter to fit the new angle it can be difficult adjusting to it. Along with knocking off your opponents, it now cools off your engine which can let you boost longer. Another new feature, which sounds like it will add quite a bit more strategy to how you race, is an additional effect that you receive when using your back wheel against opponents. There have been quite a few new additions included though, including the ability to wheelie over slower moving opponents, the ability to save tracks you have created along with sending them over the internet to friends, the ability to play online with random opponents or people on your friends list, and the ability to earn ranks similar to that of Excite Bots and Excite Truck. On the gameplay side the game is almost identical to the original NES title. None of these areas actually effect gameplay though and are just the set location for the track, but the backgrounds do change to fit each location.
